Things to remember this Memorial day weekend..

My dad sent me an email about Memorial's day that had a great poem on it that I felt like I needed and wanted to share.... (the email did not give an author for this poem)

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to assemble.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN,
who salutes the flag!

It is the
VETERAN,
who serves under the flag!

I hope that we can all remember those wonderful Veterans this Memorial day weekend as we busy ourselves with annual bbq's and swimming and whatever else we all do each Memorial day. I am so grateful to live in this wonderful country where I have the freedom to worship how I please, say what I want and raise my children the way God wants me to!! Please take time this Memorial day weekend to remember and acknowledge those wonderful and brave men and women that fight everyday for YOU to have the freedoms you enjoy!!
