May the force be with you....

Yesterday was Alex's birthday.  I decided that since he loves "Star Wars" I would do a "Star Wars" themed party.  Yeah, it may have been a bit childish to decorate it and all but I had fun doing it! :)

Here's the cake I did. :) I'm super proud of it! I special ordered the candle. It's Darth Vader holding his light saber!

And here's all the decorations. :) There was also red and black streamers placed around.

Updates, updates and more updates!

Hey! It's been awhile since I updated my blog so I figured I would take a moment and do that.

Halloween:
Cameron has been really into Pirates for awhile now and so we decided that we would all be pirates. Sadly I didn't get any pictures of Alex in his pirate outfit. :( He grew a beard for Halloween because you can't be a guy pirate and not have one. I did get pictures of the beard! :)

Here's a good picture of Alex's beard. :) This photo was taken when we went with Alex's aunt and uncle on a "Halloween Cruise" on the Provo river. WAY FUN!!!

I also got to carve my dream pumpkin this year for Halloween. MALEFICENT!!! (The villain from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty")

Thanksgiving:
We went out to Alex's parents this year for Thanksgiving. We had a great time out there with his family. Sadly, I didn't take any pictures of it this year. Also, this November (about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving) I got bored one night and decided to read the "Twilight" series. Those books are addictive! Hahaha!!! I read the complete series (4 books) in one months time. And now, I guess, you could call me a huge fan!! I LOVE this series!! I love the books and the movies. (Yes, the first one is a bit cheesy but this is also true for so many other series that turn out to be extremely good! IE, Harry Potter) :)

Christmas:
We had a really good Christmas this year! We all got completely spoiled! :) We woke up early to open gifts with just us in the morning, then headed out to Alex's parents and went to his sister's sacrament meeting that afternoon with her and her family and his parents. After that we went to my grandma's for her annual Christmas lunch and gifts and then headed over to my parents and finally my other grandmother's after dinner. It was a really busy day but I wouldn't change a thing about it! It wouldn't be Christmas if we weren't going non-stop. :) The day after Christmas we got together with Alex's family again for family pictures and a family dinner before his brother had to go back to Arizona.

LDS General Relief Society Meeting

This year my mom was able to get tickets for her, me, my sister in law, aunt and grandma to go up to the conference center to watch it. It was an amazing experience! We took Trax up and had dinner in the city before the conference. It was so amazing to be in the conference center and feel the spirit we did there. The meeting was very good. :) I loved President Uchtdorf's talk and next spring I plan to see many forget me nots in people's flower gardens. :)

New job!

Alex got a new job this past week! He will now be working at PC Laptops during the day and at C7 at night. I am sad that he is working two jobs and we won't get to see him much but, we are hoping that PC Laptops will be a better fit and the paychecks will be better so he won't have to keep working at night. We will get benefits from this new job which is nice. (We haven't had medical insurance for over a year now and with a child that is rough!) But hopefully this new job will be a good step in the right direction. (Don't get me wrong I still have my speculations about it but I'm trusting it was the right choice) And for now, I'm looking forward to two paychecks. :)

Birthday Party at the fire station!

For Cameron's cousin's birthday (Brent) we got a tour of the AF fire department. It was so fun and Cameron was so amazed at all the trucks! She got to sit in one but wouldn't sit in it long enough for me to take a picture. I did get some good pictures of her outside the fire trucks though.

Cameron compared to a fire truck's tires. She looks so small next to it.

After they talked about the firetrucks and the kids got to see an actual fire fighter in all his turnout gear they turned on the lights to every truck they had in the garage. This was Cameron's favorite. It's actually an ambulance. :)

Me and my silly little lady bug on a fire truck. (We were so sad that daddy had to work that night and miss the party)

I'm A Big Girl Now!

Recently, Alex and I made the decision to put Cameron in a big girl bed instead of the day-bed crib. (And no, we didn't make this decision because we'll be needing the crib soon. I'm not pregnant!) My mom kept my old twin bed from my childhood and gave it to us for her. :) We had intended on giving her the bed for Christmas but, in our tiny 2 bedroom apartment, we had nowhere to store it for 3 months. So, Cameron got her bed early. (It doesn't have a comforter on it yet, that is coming for Christmas. Shh, don't tell her though) ;) Here's a few pictures of her new big girl bed.

It's obviously considerably larger than the crib so her room is a bit more crowded but she loves it! I was so concerned about her first night in it. She slept great! However, it did take her a couple of hours to actually fall asleep due to her playing. :)

On top of Cameron getting her big girl bed, Alex and I went and got our headboard back from being stored at his parents house. We have missed it so much!! We were storing it at his parents house because we thought it wouldn't fit in our bedroom but we measured our bedroom one day and it fits with a few inches to spare on each side! Just enough to slide the ironing board in and hide it! :) Here's a picture of our new room. It makes our room look so small but makes our bed look so much nicer.

Summer Fun!

It has been a little while since I posted anything. We've been so busy with our summer activities that I just didn't have time to post anything. :) We had a lot of fun this summer. It was filled with hiking, carnivals, parades, family, bbq's, games, dinosaur museums, swimming, hair cuts and much much more! Here are some pictures of our summer events:

Hiking with grandma and grandpa.

At a parade. Waiving to city royalty.

Fun in the sun, swimming.

Fun with cousins!

First time bowling!

At the Dinosaur Museum with cousins.

Those are just a small amount of the summer fun we had this year. Every summer my sister comes to visit with her 5 children! We always have a blast with them all! We hope you all had just as fun of a summer as we did! :)
